IaC Reviews That Survive Team Handoffs
A useful infrastructure review is readable by the next engineer—not only by the auditor who wrote it.
Findings written as vague warnings (“tighten permissions”) evaporate after the engagement. Findings tied to module paths, resource addresses, and suggested replacement blocks remain useful when ownership rotates.
We structure IaC reviews as annotated maps: each high-severity item includes the blast radius, the exact config locus, and a minimal patch direction. Medium items are grouped by theme so teams can batch fixes. Low items become backlog tickets with acceptance criteria, not footnotes.
If your auditors leave only slides, you bought theater. If they leave a navigable map of the codebase, you bought continuity.
